Billy "Bill" Ray Wellmon, 77, of Polkville Road, Shelby, went to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at his home.

Born in Cleveland County, on September 28, 1945, he was a son of the late Clemmie "Chick" Lee Wellmon and Ruby Costner Wellmon. He was the owner of Ethel's Family Care Home and a member of Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of forty-seven years, Ethel Lail Wellmon, a brother Bobby Wellmon; and a sister, Diane Helms.

He is survived by his son, Jacob Wellmon and wife Kristie of Casar; two precious grandchildren, Abbie Wellmon and fiancé, Joshua Lindsay and Mason Wellmon both of Casar who he loved dearly; a brother, Michael Wellmon and wife Pam of Fallston and a brother-in-law, JC Helms of Polkville.

The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service. At other times the family will be at the home.

The graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 4:30 PM at Rose Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Harold Camp, Rev. Joshua Lindsay and Mr. Mason Wellmon officiating.
