Billy Gene Cartee, 68, of 103 Truhlar Dr, passed away Saturday, May 8th, 2021, at Charles George VAMC.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Linda Hamrick Cartee and the son of the late Donald Cartee and Jean Westmoreland Cartee. Mr. Cartee worked for 33 years at FMC Lithium in Bessemer City, NC, and was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Cartee is survived by one son, Carl Cartee (Heather) of Franklin, TN; two daughters, Kelly Bedwell of Clarksville, TN, and Karen Cartee of Stanly, NM; one brother, Danny Cartee (Sandra) of Shelby; one sister, Connie Jones (Donnie) of Gaffney; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Donnie, Gary, and Ronnie Cartee.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 12th, 2021, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Mt. Paran Baptist Church, 105 Mt. Paran Road, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Memorial services will immediately follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Grady Gregory and Carl Cartee officiating.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
