Billy Joe Hubbard, 69 of Pete Mauney Road, Lawndale, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

Born in Rutherford County, on May 8, 1955, he was the son of the late Coach Jack Hubbard and Daisy Marie Dayberry Hubbard. Billy was retired from Brackett's Oil Company and was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers, Richard, Carl, Jesse, Ohmer, Dwight, J.R., Durham and Buren Hubbard and Harold "Red" Dayberry and two sisters, Novella Walker and Sue Downs.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Wanda Hudson Hubbard; a daughter, Misty Moore and husband, Keith of Lawndale; two granddaughters, Abbie Moore and Adison Moore; a sister, Ruby Heavner of Hickory; two special nephews, Ricky and Jimmy Hubbard and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at St. Paul Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Fulbright officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery.
