Billy John Hamrick, 55, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Forest City.

Born in Cleveland County, on April 18, 1966, he was the son of the late Evelyn Leno Hamrick Mellon. He was a graduate of North Shelby and attended Way of the Cross Church. He was an avid NASCAR and wrestling fan and enjoyed watching football and the sales at the Cleveland County Agriculture & Livestock Exchange. He truely enjoyed spending time with his family at Ocean Lakes Family Campground, Myrtle Beach.

In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by and three uncles, James Camp, John Ray Hamrick and Bobby Hamrick.

He is survived by his aunts and uncles, Boyd Hamrick, Reggie & Robin Hamrick, Barbara Camp, Joe Hamrick, Loyd Hamrick, and Ronald Hamrick all of Shelby and Scott & Shelia Hamrick of Lawndale.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Devine officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Cleveland Memorial Park.
