Billy Wayne Cook

Billy Wayne Cook, 70, an honorable and humble man's earthly life ended and his eternal walk with God began February 27, 2021 at CMC - Atrium, Charlotte.

Born in Cleveland County, on April 16, 1950, he was a son of the late Julius Clemmie Cook and Susan Dale Cook. He was retired from PPG Industries after thirty-nine years of service and was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War reaching the rank of Sergeant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Javan Cook, J.C. Cook and Tonnie Alvin Cook and one sister, Bertha Swink.

Survivors include four brothers, John Cook and wife Becky of Shelby, Forrest Cook of Polkville, Harrell Cook and wife Mary of Shelby and Darrell Cook and wife Cathy of Claremont; three sisters, Vernie Willis of Lawndale, Juanita Allen and husband Thad of Shelby and Diane Blanton of Mt. Holly; a sister-in-law, Nancy Cook of Casar; a brother in arms and best friend Charlie "Chuck" Chapman and wife Debbie of Ohio; twenty-nine nieces and nephews that Bill loved and supported as only Bill knew how; and numerous great nieces and nephews and a growing number of great great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with the pastor James Wedgeworth and Mr. Charlie Chapman his "brother by choice" officiating.
