Blanche Lane Brackett, 93, formerly of Lawndale, NC passed away early Saturday morning, March 2, at Heritage Greens Independent Living in Greensboro, NC.
She was the daughter of the late Shufford and Ada Lane and the wife of the late J.B. Brackett for 71 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah Hayes and Ruth Pearson, as well as an infant brother William (Bill) Lane.
A devoted Christian and loving mother, she is survived by son, Douglas Brackett and wife Pat of High Point; daughter Diana Tedrick and husband Jeff of Summerfield. She maintained a life-long interest in her grandchildren, Peter Brackett of Greensboro; Samuel Brackett and wife Gretchen of Charlotte; and Hope Halso and husband Matt, also of Charlotte. She particularly enjoyed her great-grandchildren, Caroline and Sarah Grace Halso and Sadie Brackett, all of Charlotte. In addition, she very much enjoyed gospel music and Carolina basketball, Go Heels!
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 7, at 2:00pm in the chapel of Stamey Funeral Home, 846 East Stagecoach Trail, Fallston, NC. The family will be present at 1:00pm for visitation.
Appreciation is extended to those who maintained contact with her over the years, particularly the members of First United Methodist Church Lawndale and Morehead Methodist Church in Greensboro. It was a source of great comfort, friendship and spiritual fulfillment to her.
In recognition of her life-long devotion to and support of her church, the family requests that memorials be sent to the First United Methodist Church Lawndale, P.O. Box 548, Lawndale, NC 28090.
