Bobbie Anne Greene Cook

Bobbie Anne Greene Cook, lovingly known as Anne, age 83, peacefully passed away on October 12, 2025, at Atrium Health in Shelby. Born to Jasper and Zola Greene on December 12, 1941, in Cleveland County.

Anne was an example of dedication and love in every aspect of her life. She was a beacon of support and affection for her husband, Jimmy T. Cook. Their marriage of 62 years was a testament to their unwavering commitment to each other and their family. The legacy of their love continues through their three adoring children, Jennifer (Mark) Aberly of Mint Hill, Brian (Cindy) Cook of Shelby, and Elizabeth (Ben) Sanders of Casar. Anne's joy was multiplied by her grandchildren, Marlyn (Alex) White of Casar, Macy (Alex) Gordon of Shelby, Brittney Cook of Cherryville, Brayden Cook of Sanford, NC, Noah Sanders of Rockwood, TN and Isaac Sanders of Hertford, NC, and Clayton Cook of Shelby and step grandchildren, Austin (Taylor) Aberly of Charlotte, NC, Dallas (Victoria) Aberly of Birmingham, AL and Ashleigh (Jake) Kiker of Oakboro, NC. She took delight in seeing her family expand with the addition of great-grandchildren Madelyn White, Marc James Maio, Daniel White, Elliott Gordon, and Kipton Gordon.

Her professional career as a billing agent with Cleveland County Water marked her dedication to the community which she served until retirement. Spiritually devout, she found strength and solace in her faith, being a devoted member of Casar Baptist Church. Christianity played a central role in Anne's life, guiding her actions and inspiring her interactions with everyone she met.

While health challenges in her later years altered her pace of life, they couldn't dampen her spirit. Anne continued to engage with her loved ones and maintain her social circles through heartfelt conversations over the phone. Her words were invariably infused with her characteristic humor, kindness, and love.

In addition to her beloved immediate family, Anne leaves behind a special caregiver, Loretta Shull, who provided comfort and care during her final days. She also leaves a treasury of memories shared with numerous cousins, her church family, and a community of friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Zola Greene, and her brother Hal Stuart Greene. She lives on in the warm stories, the laughter she inspired, and the deep sense of love she fostered throughout her life.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 PM at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Pruett officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. At other times the family will be at the home.

Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Fallston.
