Mr. Bobby "Bob" Gene Hunt, Sr., 80, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 4, 2025, in Shelby, NC. Bob was the son of the late Lester Hunt and Mary Bennett. He was born on May 16, 1945, in Rutherford County, NC.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester Hunt and Mary Bennett; and a number of siblings.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Willie Mae Hunt, of the home; daughter, Melissa 'Lisa' Ann Hunt; son, Bobby Hunt, Jr.; granddaughters, Italy Phelps, Chozie Hunt, and Karley Hunt; and great granddaughter, Ivria Phelps; with each of them carrying forward the values he lived by-----love for family, commitment to community, and a spirit of generosity. He is also survived by additional siblings; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held at S. T. Enloe Memorial Chapel on Monday, December 8, 2025.
