Bobby Dean Ledford

Bobby Dean Ledford, 77, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Hospice at Wendover, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, on June 6, 1946, he was a son of the late Belve Bishop Ledford and Vera Louise Goforth Ledford. He retired from Duke Energy after thirty-six years of service and was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and the Truth Seeker's Sunday School Class. Bobby will be remember for his love of NASCAR, the Carolina Tarheels, the Green Bay Packers, and the Atlanta Braves. He was a man who loved people and enjoyed life to the fullest, from sharing a good joke or spoiling his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Jerry Ledford and wife Gale; two sisters, Ann Ellis and Kathy Dover and a sister-in-law, Francis Ledford

His is survived by his wife, Nancy Mellon Ledford; two sons, Brian Ledford and wife Kristin of Denver and Robert Ledford and wife Leah of Davidson; a daughter, Carla Baynard and husband Tony of Lawndale; nine grandchildren, Kensley, Riley, Caroline, and Hayden Ledford of Denver, Sawyer, Charlie and Wilder Ledford of Davidson, Brittany Causby of Salisbury and Jordan Causby of Lawndale; one great grandchild; four brothers, Gene Ledford of Rock Hill, SC, Bill Ledford and wife Linda of Gaffney, SC, Johnny Ledford and wife Kathie of Grover and Jimmy Ledford and wife Margaret of Grover; and a sister Betty Ruff and Chuck Perkins of Shelby; and loving companion, Izzie.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, at Big Springs Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 2:30 pm at Big Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Scott officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial may be made to Big Springs Baptist Church, 534 Big Springs Church Road, Ellenboro, NC, 28040..
