Bobby Gene Greene, 90, of Shelby, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Atrium Health - Kings Mountain.

Born in Cleveland County, on February 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Sankie Lee Greene and Susie Woof Greene. He was a retired truck driver from Fredrickson Motor Lines and AV Dedmon Trucking and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Bob and his loving wife Carolyn loved to travel and spend time at the beach. When not at the beach or on the road you could find them fishing or working in their garden.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Fowler and May White and a niece Linda Mayhew.

He is survived by his wife of seventy-two years Carolyn Hamrick Greene; sister-in-law, Doris Dedmon and husband Charles; brother-in-law, Hershel Hamrick; Uncle Bobs loving nieces and nephews Diane Davis, Theresa Bridges, Lisa Austin, Lora Dedmon, Lynda Dedmon, Lenita Griffin, Eddie Phillips, Don Phillips, Mike Hamrick, Donna Towery, Sherry Hamrick, and Amy Branch and numerous great nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to thank Bob's caregivers, Tammy Johnson, Erika Rollins, and Sandra Davis, for all the love and care they have provided.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Toby Bird officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
