Bobby Gene Parker

Bobby Gene Parker, 74, of Hull Road, Casar, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 4, 2025, at his home.

Born November 2, 1950, in Cleveland County, He was a son of the late Haywood Parker and Zora Luckadoo Parker. He served in the US Army as a helicopter mechanic and saw active duty during the Vietnam War. After Deployment, he obtained employment at Wilson Tree Company for eighteen years advancing to the position of general foreman and then transitioned to Asplundh Tree Experts in the same position. After his time at Asplundh, he worked at Standard Crankshaft as a welder until it closed. He then started his own business, Parker Tree Service, where he was the owner and operator for eighteen years until he retired. Bobby was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church where he served on the building and grounds committee and usher. In Bobbys younger days, he loved to hunt. Bobby would plant and work in his garden every year until he could no longer. He loved his coffee all times of the day.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Gertrude Sailors, Christine Seagle, Elsie Willis, Beth McNeilly, Jeanette Hoyle, and two infant sisters; grandson, Jeffery Parker and two great grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara of forty years; children, Dwain Parker, Tammy Parker (Mike), Mary Moore and David Smith (Megan); brothers, Delbert Parker and Claman Parker; sister, Margaret Willis; grandchildren, Taylor Parker Dunn, Chloe Parker, Alivia, Charlie and Tyler Smith, Josh, Brandon and Ashley Fortenberry; and twelve great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Fulbright and Mr. Claman Parker officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites.
