Mr. Bobby Gene Ross, 66, of Shelby, NC, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 in Shelby. He was born on December 28, 1958 in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Eddie and Dorinda Jones Ross.

Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, J. P. Ross, J.W. Ross, Randolph Ross, Rudolph Ross, Robert Lee Ross and Woodrow Ross; sisters, Minnie Mae Montgomery, Margaret Ann Starnes, Doris McClain, Sally Ann McClain, and Annie Mae Roach.

Mr. Ross was a funny person who loved to write plays. He had his own detailing service. He was an ordained Deacon. He and Barbara had renewed their wedding vows three times with the last time being at Changer's Church by Pastor Ricky McCluney.

He leaves precious memories to his wife, Barbara Johnson Ross; son, Shontrell Lamont Hopper (Leslie); daughters, Victoria Bryan and Tonya Bahamundi (Elvin); grandchildren, Kaleah Roberts, Shontrell Hopper (Moriah), Reshaun Hopper, Ja'Shon Hopper, Tre'Shon Hopper, Kavion Hopper, Maleah Smarr, Kayla Gentry, Jeremiah Hopper, Anthony "Isaiah" London (AJ) and Nathan Bryan; great grandchildren, Keloni Hopper, Kyheem Hopper, Cannon Hopper, Chandler Hopper, Cross Hopper; best friend, Ardell Gerald; in-laws, Jessie Johnson, John P. Johnson, Sylvia Lattimore (David), Steve Johnson, Louis Johnson (Ann), Sylvia Ross, and Ricky Starnes; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at S. T. Enloe Memorial Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Enloe Mortuary was in charge of the services.
