Mr. Bobby Swint passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby. He was born on November 2, 1953 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Elgie Swint and Hattie Coates Swint.

As an independent person, Bobby was employed for many years with Asphalt Paving of Shelby and he loved to work. In his pastime, he enjoyed watching old westerns and good comedy movies on television. In addition, he enjoyed listening to gospel music especially songs by Rance Allen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Frankie Coates, Elgie Swint, Jr., Gary Swint and Charles Swint and two uncles, Joe Coates (Betty) and John Junior Coates.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers, Larry Swint of Shelby, NC, Donald Swint of Atlanta, GA, James Swint of of Charleston, SC and Ronnie Swint and Ricky Swint both of Shelby; four sisters, Martha Hogue of Shelby, Barbara Jean Swint of Asheville, NC, Barbara Swint (Terry) and Pamela Swint both of Shelby; two aunts, Marie Swint and Lula Mae Burton both of Oconee, GA; good friend, Grady Patterson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Temple Church in Grover, NC. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM at the church and other times at the home of his sister, Brenda Swint, 618 Douglas St. Shelby.
