Bonnie Poston Putnam, age 91, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Hospice Wendover in Shelby, NC.

Born on April 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Maggie and Paul Poston. In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Billy R. Putnam, her sister Dolores Tate, her brothers, Everett, Henry Lee, Jack, Curtis, Pink and John Hord Poston. She is also preceded in death by her niece Sandra Faye Humphries and her great nephew Jonathan Peeler.

After graduating from Number Three High School, Bonnie attended Business school. She worked for Doctor O. Hunter Jones in Charlotte for 29 years, until the doctor retired. She later worked as a receptionist for Eastern Airlines. At the age of 65, she graduated from Winthrop College with a Degree in Finance.

Bonnie is survived by her brother Paul David Poston and her sister Dorothy Faye Hutchins, her nieces and nephews, Carol Ann Peeler, Linda Poston, Jimmy Roberson (Lauren), Tom Roberson (Evelyn), David Poston (Julie), Dale Poston (Sherry), Clint Tate, Suzanne Kauffman (Brian). Bonnie is also survived by her great nephews Derek Humphries, Ashton Tate, Sherwood Tate, Paul Durant Poston, great nieces Megan Brandle, Anna Kauffman, Rachel Roberson and great-great nephew Nate Brandle. Even though Bonnie had no children of her own, she treated all her nieces and nephews as if they were hers.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
