Boyd Eugene "Gene" Bell, 97, passed away Friday November 4, 2022, in Shelby, NC.

Gene was born to the late Samuel & Virginia Bell on September 20, 1925. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Opal Bell, brothers, Horace Bell, Odell Bell, Rev. Arnold Bell, Giles Bell, infant brother, Grady Bell and sister, Gail Bell.

Gene is survived by sons, Mickey Bell and his wife, Connie, Jack Bell and his wife, Karen and daughter, Nadine Ramsey and her husband, Charles. Gene leaves behind a sister, Betty Philbeck, granddaughters, Carla Pitts and her husband, Scott, Laura Holland and her husband, Matt; grandsons, Donald Bell, Matt Bell and his wife, Kelly, David Ramsey and his wife, Anna, Michael Bell, and his wife Leigh. Also left to cherish his memory are great grand daughters, Maria Ramsey, Grace Pitts, Olivia Byars and her husband, Colton, Sarah Bell, Leah Holland, Reese Bell, Ava Holland, Alex Kate Bell and great grandsons, John Bell, David Bell, Luke Pitts, Eric Bell, Logan Ramsey, Isaac Pitts, and James Pitts.

Memorials may be offered to Oak Grove Baptist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.

To honor the life of Mr. Boyd Eugene "Gene" Bell a funeral service will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1022 Oak Grove Rd, Kings Mountain, NC 28086. The family will receive friends an hour prior, burial will follow at the church cemetery, concluding the service.
