Brenda "BB" Lee Putnam Bridges

Brenda "BB" Lee Putnam Bridges, 77 of Mooresboro, NC passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, October 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that could only come from a life fully lived. She had a way of making everyone feel at home -- with her quick wit, open heart, and the kind of smile that said, "sit down and stay awhile."

Born on May 2 to Arthur Lee and Corrine Putnam in Kings Mountain, NC. A proud high school basketball player, BB brought that same determination and team spirit to everything she did. She went on to become a talented hairdresser -- known just as much for her beautiful work as for the laughter that filled her salon chair.

She met the love of her life, Eddie W. Bridges, on a blind date, and just six months later, they began what would become nearly 48 years of marriage. Together, they built a life full of faith, family, and friendship -- and more than a few stories that will keep us smiling for years to come.

BB was a devoted mother, grandmother, loyal friend, and the glue that held generations together. She loved tracing her family roots, collecting stories from the past, and sharing them with anyone who'd listen. Her garden was her peaceful place -- colorful, joyful, and filled with rocks she gathered along the way, each one with a story behind it.

And oh, could she bake. Her cakes and pies were famous among family and friends -- the kind that brought people running to the kitchen and made every gathering feel a little more special. Whether it was a birthday, a holiday, or just because, BB believed love was best shared one slice at a time.

She was a survivor in every sense of the word -- facing life's hardest moments with courage, grace, and a touch of humor. She reminded us that even in the toughest seasons, there's always room for a smile and a little sweetness.

Now, she's celebrating in heaven with her parents, her "favorite" brother, Jessie Van Putnam and beloved son, Matthew William Bridges, no doubt catching up, sharing a laugh, and enjoying a well-earned slice of something sweet.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Jessica Bridges Weaver (William), Ginger Bridges Jackson (Andrew), three granddaughters, Euzelia "Zelee" Mae Jackson, Lily Katherine Bridges, Nora Lee Bridges, four sister-in-laws, Janice Moore Putnam, Gwen Bridges Hamlet (Haywood), Joy Cooper Williams, and Carol Bridges Terry (Cecil) and many nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a visitation at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home 5 - 7 pm on Tuesday, October 21st and a celebration of life will be held at Sandy Run Baptist Church, Mooresboro, on Wednesday, October 22nd at 11:00 am. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the beautiful life of a woman who loved deeply, laughed often, and never stopped caring for others at her home at other times.

In lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 West Faris Rd. Greenville, SC 29605 or VIA Health Partners, PO Box 470408 Charlotte, NC 28247.

Online condolences can be made at www.cecilmburtonfuneralhome.com.

Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the family.
