Brenda Jean Philemon Goode

Brenda Jean Philemon Goode, age 77, of 301 Harrill Road, Forest City, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Atrium Health-Cleveland, in Shelby.
Brenda was born on Thursday, May 6, 1948, in Sarasota, Florida, but was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended high school and later beauty school, working for many years as a cosmetologist before becoming a cashier at Earl's Save-More.
In 1966, Brenda married Ron Goode, the love of her life, and they shared fifty-nine wonderful years of marriage, a testimony of their unwavering love, commitment, building a life of faith, family, and love. Motherhood became her most vital role in life. She was a devoted homemaker who never let her hands be idle. Brenda had a heart for service and always had something to do for her loved ones. An avid gardener, she cared for her family in the same fashion as her plants and flowers, watching each one bloom. Brenda loved to cook and bake and was known for her unforgettable birthday cakes. She was kind, humble, and radiated joy. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman. Brenda never missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren at sports events and recitals. She faithfully attended Grace Chapel Foursquare Church with her best friend, Cathy Bradley, by her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mary Philemon; sisters, Von Hunt and Shirley Malcolm; and her son-in-law, Trip Weed.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of fifty-nine years, Ron Goode; children, Ronald "Dean" Goode Jr., of Forest City, Alicia Weed, of Lexington, South Carolina, Jack Goode (Rhonda), of Forest City, and Adrienne Ledford (Eric), of Forest City; grandchildren, Kelsey Ellenburg (Jacob), Drew Weed, Aydan Weed, Cale Weed, Alaina Goode, Addie Goode, Brett Goode (Robin Collins), Austin Ledford, Makaylah Ledford, Seth Ledford, and Autumn Ledford Norton (Connor); great-grandchildren, Kolton, Kaliyah, Jaxon, Josiah, Reece, Royce, and Eamonn; and her furry friend, Odin.
A celebration of Brenda's life will be held at 2:00 pm at Race Path Baptist Church on Sunday, June 1st with Reverend Ricky Poteat and Reverend Paul McGinnis officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
We celebrate the comfort of knowing she loved the Lord and is completely healed in Heaven.
