Brenda Leila Earwood Richards Bush, 81, of Salisbury formerly of Shelby, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Novant Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury.

Born in Cleveland County, on September 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Dixon Reid Earwood and Stella Jane Leonhardt Earwood. Brenda was retired from Burns High School as the bookkeeper and was previously employed with Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by beloved husband Robert "Bob" David Bush.

She is survived by her son Eric Richards and partner Helen Malone of Kannapolis; two daughters, Jamie Rooney and husband John of Boydton, VA and Robin Wylie and husband Stuart of Kill Devil Hills; two stepsons, Scott Bush and wife Maureen and Brett Bush and wife Melissa all of Canada; two stepdaughters, Sharyn Gibson and husband Rick and Carolyn McBurney and husband Doug all of Canada; seven grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:00 am at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 301 N. Post Road, Shelby, NC, with the Rev. Rit Varriale officiating. Immediately following the service the family invites everyone to the fellowship hall to visit and have ice cream in memory of Brenda.

The entombment will be held in the Rose Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
