The retirees fish Lake Hickory last week and had better results than in previous visits, cooler weather will do that for you. Dean Champion and Ken Johnson had 8.95 and picked up the win. Larry Melton and George Crosswhite had 6.80 and were second. Close behind in third was David O’Shields and Doug Sparrow with 6.45. Mack Wyatt and Johnny Christainberry had big bass of the day with a 3.0 largemouth. This week the old timers head to Lake Norman.
Moss
Thirteen boats fished the weekly bass tournament on Moss Lake last Thursday night. Scott Yarbro and Nathan White left the friendly banks of the carp lake to take on Moss. They grabbed the win with 6.8 and had big bass with a 2.12 largemouth. Walt Brysick and Charles Bridges settled in second with 3.2. Chris Edwards and Donnie Beason were close on their heels with 3.1. Brian and Cody Hoyle took fourth with 2.12 and fifth went to Ronnie Humphries with 1.90. Arnold says he will continue with the night tournaments into mid October. The fish-off will be October 15 from 8-2.
CCBC
The Cleveland County Bass Club will fish their September event on Lake Norman this weekend from 7-3. Hopefully I can get a points rundown after that event.
