Bruce Camp's Local Fishing Report April 19th edition
Kosa
The retirees fished Lake Norman last week with some pretty good catches. David O’Shields and JR Henry won with 9.95. They also had big bass of the day with a 2.50 largemouth. James Haynes and Tommy Wess took second, with 7.70 and Ronnie Humphries getting third with 7.55. This week they head back to Lake Wylie.
PPG
The PPG Bass Club fished Mountain Island Lake last week. Tony Jordan and Eric Spurling got the win with 13.2. They anchored that with a 4.9 largemouth, that took big fish honors. Evan Edwards and John Brown was second with 9.2 and Richard Young took third with 8.2.
Lake Wylie Bait and Tackle
The Thursday night event on Lake Wylie had some really good catches as Gene Webster won with 16.36, Derek Lilly had 15.63 and was second.
Bass Casters
Mitch McCracken won the Bass Casters event on Lake James last weekend with 6.12. Mark Swink was a close second with 6.11, with Brandonn Scarborough bringing in 6.0 to get third. John Brown had 5.9 and was fourth and fifth went to Bubba Sprouse with 5.5. Mark Swink had a 2.10 largemouth which was big bass of the day. Next up for the Bass Casters is May 19, Saturday night starting at midnight til 9am on Lake Wylie. Hopefully the poor catch at Lake James will be the last time we have to endure the skiers paradise.
Moss
Nineteen boats made the trip to Moss Lake for the Thursday night bass tournament. Brian and Cody Hoyle got the win with 13.06 followed closely by Matt Arey and Bryan Thrift with 12.54. Walt Brysick fish solo and was third with 4.60 and the only other boat to weigh a fish was Brad Carpenter and Nathan White with 4.24. Big bass was a 5.81 largemouth brought in by Arey and Thrift. Arnold ask to remind readers about the annual benefit tournament on Moss Lake the first Saturday in May. For more info, see Arnold at the Thursday night tournaments.
