Burns High School Benefit Event
The Burns High a School Marching band will be holding benefit bass tournament on Lake Hickory, May 10. Tournament hours are Safelight til 3pm and it will blast off and weigh-in at Whittenburg Access. Entry fee is $60 per boat with an optional $5 big fish pot. There will be door prizes, t-shirts, hats, fishing lures and more. Entry forms can be found at the Bass Shack, Great Outdoors add D & N Minimart. For more info go to burnsbands.org or call Shane Glover @ 704-477-0847.
This is a good event and for a good cause. Anyone who has ever had a child in band, you know the band has to foot the bill for most everything they do.  If you can, please try to make this tournament.

The retirees fished Lake Hickory last week, and there was a tie for first place. John Black and Roger McNeely tied with the team of David O’Shields and Doug Sparrow. Both teams brought in 13.6. David and Doug had big bass with a 4.1 laregmouth. Tommy Wess and James Haynes had 7.0 and were third. This week the retirees head back to Lake Wylie.
