Bruce Camp's Local Fishing Report Feb. 24 edition
KOSA
The retirees finally had a decent day for fishing last week. When tournament Director John Black called, his first words were,” We finally got to go fishing”. The old-timers were on Lake Wylie. John Black and Roger McNeilly picked up the win with 10.60 and anchored that with the big bass of the day, a 3.25 largemouth.. Mack Wyatt and Johnny Christainberry had 9.90 and were second with Tom Mayhew and John Rankin getting third with 9.55. This  week the retirees will fish Lake Norman. All indications are the weather will cooperate again this week.
CCBC
The Cleveland County Bass Club fished their first event on the 2011 season on Lake Wylie recently. Tom Mayhew (the only angler to bring in a limit) took top honors with 11.82. Butch Phillips followed with 9.08, close behind was Larry Melton with 8.84. John Rankin had 6.38 and took fourth and rounding out the top five was Chuck Camp with 5.22. Mayhew had big bass of the day with a 3.74 largemouth. The CCBC will fish Lake Norman in March on a date yet to be determined.
Moss
Arnold Ledford says it appears the weekly Thursday night tournaments on Moss Lake will start up on March 17. Events run from 6pm til 9:30 pm with a $30 entry fee, and that does include big fish.
