Finally some fishing news to report. The retirees fished Lake Norman with J R Garland and Rick Miers getting the win with a catch of 9.5. They also had big bass of the day with a 2.4 spotted bass. I was told all of their fish were spotted bass. Ray Hembree and George Crosswhite had 7.0 and claimed second place while third went to David O'Shields and Doug Sparrow with 3.5.

The Cleveland County Bass Club elected new officers for the upcoming year. They are: Pres.-Roger Beaver, Vice Pres.- Larry Melton, Sec/Tres.- Tammy Melton, Tournament Director- Jimmy Melton, Asst. Torn. Dir. - Charlie Canipe.
With new officers always comes the lakes for the year. They are: Feb. - Wylie, March - Murray, April - Fishing Creek, May - Greenwood, June - Hickory & Rhodhiss, Aug. - Mtn. Island, Sept. - High Rock, Oct. - Stumpy Pond, Nov. - Wateree, Dec. - Norman. Some pretty good lakes on some good months. It will be interesting to see what kind of catches the men and women come up with this year.
