Bruce Camp's Local Fishing Report June 14, 2018

Moss Lake
The Arnold Ledford memorial tournament was held on Moss Lake just over a week ago. First, the results: J. Raby and B. Davis got the win with 15.69, followed by S. Lehew and B. Souza with 14.84. K. Logan and C. Satphin claimed third with 14.20, and in fourth with 13.29 was S. James and P. Leith. Rounding out the top 5 was B. Black and L. Black with 12.49.
Fifty-four boats came out for what many hope to be the first Arnold Ledford Memorial event. The tournament was made possible by many companies and donations, but the title sponsors were: Let's Talk Fish, The Great Outdoors, Anglers Choice Marine and Southern Redfish Cup. These and more made it so that $1,000 was first place payout and $500 went to second. There was awesome prizes back from third to tenth. It took 10.56 to make it in the top ten, and there was a lot of fish caught by all teams.
Matt Arey and Bryan Thrift as well as the crew from the Southern Redfish Cup handled the weigh-in and Guy Eaker was the emcee.
A total of $5,875 was raised for the Ledford family, who were in attendance for the entire weigh-in.
For anyone that didn't know Arnold, he was a good man, great friend to all and as Matt, Bryan and I were talking, was the one person who started bass tournaments on Moss Lake and made it possible for local anglers to go close to home and fish a three and a half hour tournament weekly. Matt, Bryan and Andy Montgomery (all three fish professionally) and got their starts fishing those weekly events.
Kosa
The retirees have fished Lake Norman twice since last report. They alternate from putting in at the dam one week to Pinnacle Access (middle of the lake) the other week. From the dam, Rick LaMountain picked up the win with 10.09. Darrell Hagger and Willie Winchester took second with 6.38 and third went to John Black and Roger McNeely with 5.73. Black and McNeely had big bass of the day with a 4.15 bass.
At Pinnacle it was John Black and Roger McNeely getting the win with 9.00. Phil Summerfill had 8.26 and was second, he also had big bass with a 2.38. Darrell Hagger and Willie Winchester had 7.62 and took third. This week they are on Lake Wylie.
