The Cleveland County Bass Club fished their May event on Lake Greenwood recently. Tammy Melton picked up the win with a catch of 7.20. Charlie Canipe was second with 6.56, he also had big bass of the day with a 3.72 largemouth. Jamie Canipe was third with 5.10 and Jimmy Melton took fourth, bringing in 3.58. Tyler Ward was a close fifth with 3.48.
Kosa
The Kosa retirees fished twice since my last report. On Lake Wylie Rick Miers and J R Garland won with 11.9, anchored by big fish of 3.5. Larry Melton and James Osborne were second with 10.3, and Ray Hembree and George Crosswhite came in third with 10.2.
On Lake Norman, Dean Champion and Fred Wright grabbed the win with 11.9. Rick Miers and J R Garland were a close second with 11.1, and in third with 10.1 was George Crosswhite and Ray Hembree. Larry Melton and James Osborne had big bass of the day with a 3.1 largemouth.
Moss Lake
The Thursday night weekly fishing events on Moss Lake have fished 3 times since I last heard from Arnold. Results starting 3 weeks ago up to last week are as follows: 19 boats, Jody Black/Jason Rhodes 12.7 and big bass 3.67. Reggie and Johnny Guffey 10.76, Tyler Ward/Jerome Bolton 10.02, Randall Wright/Adam Aldridge 9.67, Buddy and Michael Black 9.08. Two weeks ago 30 boats: Reggie and Johnny Guffey 12.30 with big bass of 3.90, Maverick and Charles Canipe 11.85, Randy Moss/Scott Heffner 11.58, Jamie and Holden McSwain 10.85, Chet and Cameron Beam 10.59. Last week 20 boats: David Hendrick 10.48 and big bass 3.15, Arnold Ledford/Larry Denton 9.19, Nathan White 8.77, Buddy and Michael Black 8.58, J R Garland/Ronnie Beason 8.13.
