Bruce Camp's Local Fishing Report June 5, 2014
The retirees have fished twice since I last reported, once on Lake Norman and once on Lake Hickory. On Lake Norman, John Black and Roger McNeely grabbed the win with 12.4. They also had the big bass of the day with a 4.8  largemouth. Ken Johnson and Fred Wright were second with 7.0 and third with 5.5 was Larry Melton and James Osborne.
On Lake Hickory, Larry Melton and James Osborne got the win with 12.1, they also had big bass of the day with a 3.5 largemouth. Ken Johnson and Fred Wright had 11.9 and were second, and third went to John Black and Roger McNeely with 8.8.
The Thursday night tournaments on Moss Lake have had 3 events since my last report. Buddy and Lindsey Black got the win in the first one with 10.31, and Lindsey caught big bass of the night with a 2.95  largemouth. Larry Denton and Allen McSwain had 7.07 and were second with J R Garland and Ronnie Beason getting third with a catch of 5.76.
The next week, Matt Arey and Bryan Thrift got the win with 11.16. Ken Lafayette and Kevin Jones had 7.33 good enough for second. Jay Jackson and Jeff Melton had 6.88 and were third with Reggie and Johnny Guffey claiming fourth with 6.0. Fifth with 5.67 was J R Garland and Ronnie Beason.
The third event saw J R Garland and Ronnie Beason take the win with 9.94. Bryan Thrift and Matt Arey had 8.49 and were second. Brent Green and Trever Harrill brought in 7.75 and got third and in fourth with 5.25 was Jess Blanton and Wendall Leonard. Arnold Ledford and Brent Shytles had 4.68 and claimed fifth.
The Cleveland County Bass Club fished Mountain Island Lake recently and Roger Beaver got the win with 11.76. Tammy Melton had 7.12 and was second with Tom Mayhew in third with 6.78. John Rankin had 6.36 to claim fourth and in fifth with 6.18 was Larry Melton. Roger Beaver had big bass of the day with a 3.76 largemouth.
