Bruce Camp's Local Fishing Report March 22nd edition
Kosa
The retirees have fished twice since I last reported. The first was on Lake Wylie with the Tommy Wess and James Haynes showdown. The Lawndale twins, as they are also known as, brought in 13.70 and had the big fish of the day with a 4.0 largemouth. Dean Champion and Fred Wright had 10.70 and were second, with Tony Black and Ned Blanton rounding out the top three with 9.95. Last week it was Lake Norman and David O’Shield along with JR Henry got the win with 8.15. J.R. Garland had 7.85 to claim second place and Fred Wright and Ken Johnson tied for third with Tom Mayhew and John Rankin as both teams brought in 7.65. Ronnie Humphries had the big bass of the day with a 3.0 largemouth.
Bass Casters
The Bass Casters fished Lake Hickory this past weekend and as has been for  the last few years in the spring, Mark Swink just totally kicked butt. Swink brought in 15.8 and had big fish with a 4.8 largemouth. Terry Knight had 11.10 and was second, followed by Mitch McCracken with 7.4. Jonse Good had 5.0 and settled in fourth and rounding out the top five as John Brown with 4.10. The Bass Casters will fish Lake James on April 15 from 7am, til 3pm. This week it is back to Lake Wylie and with the conditions as they are it should be a good one.
Moss
The weekly Moss Lake Thursday night tournaments started last week with 22 boats blasting off. Brian and Cody Hoyle got the win with 13.40. Chris Carroll and Earl Mase had 12.0 and were second with Johnny Guffey and Donnie Walker taking third place with 10.0. Walt Brysick and Eric Hicks had 7.0 and were fourth and rounding out the top five was Charles Bridges and Gerald Briggs with 5.54. Big bass of the evening was a 3.64 largemouth brought in by Joel White and Randy Copp. The weekly events run every Thursday starting at 6 and weighing in at 9:30.
