Bruce Camp's Local Fishing Report May 10th edition
Kosa
The retirees have fished twice since I last reported. The first was on Lake Norman and John Black partnered with Fred Wright to take the win. They had 8.70 and anchored that with a 4.20 big bass of the day. Van Sexton and Tony Black had 7.60 and were second, followed by Tommy Wess and James Haynes with 6.40.
Then it was on to Lake Wylie, whereDavid O’Shields and J R Henry had 12.35 and grabbed the win. John Black and Roger McNeilly were second with 11.50. Ray Hembree and James OZ Osborne settled in third with 6.95. This week it is back to Lake Norman and new hours, 7-1.
There have also been two Lake Wylie Thursday night events. The first went to Todd Garner and Shane Hartman with 16.25. Matt Queen and Adam Filmore had 13.76 and took second, with Gene Wedster getting third with 12.56. Jeffery Bryant and David Falls were fourth with 12.18 and rounding out the top five was Patrick McSwain and Derek Abernathy with 11.66. Big bass was a 3.78 largemouth and was brought in by Andy Beechly and Pat McNultry.
Last week, Gene Webster went back to the leader board with a catch of 14.82. John Warren and Mark Humphries had 13.55 to land in second. Bucky Helms and Jason Wilson was in third with 12.68, followed by Josh Featherstone and Bobby Spivey with 12.11. Ron and Carl Farrow settled in fifth with 11.26. Big bass was a 4.25 largemouth brought in by David falls and Jeffery Bryant.
Moss
Thursday week ago at Moss Lake’s Thursday night tournaments, 25 boats came out and J R Garland and Ronnie Beason took the win with 10.24. Timmy Osteen and Daniel Seay had 9.02 and was second, they also had big bass of the evening with a 4.59 largemouth. Alan McSwain and Larry Denton took third with 5.45, followed by Chet Beam with 4.70. Randy and Randall Wright had 3.30 and rounded out the top five.
Last week Matt Arey and Bryan Thrift picked up the win with 12.14 and they also had big bass of the night with a 5.11 largemouth. Randy and Ranall Wright had 8.57 and were second. JR Garland and Ronnie Beason came in third with 3.11. Wayne Miller and Phillip Allen had 3.06 to take fourth and fifth went to Nathan White with 2.70.
Saturdays tournament on Moss Lake had 17 boats. JR Garland and Ronnie Beason picked up the win with 11.02. Chuck Camp and Bryan Thrift had 10.07 and landed in second, with Alan McSwain and Larry Denton close behind in third with 9.48. Nathan White and Scott Yarbro was fourth with 9.33. Randy and Randall Wright came in with 8.61 and were fifth.
