Bruce Camp's Local Fishing Report May 26th edition
KOSA
The retirees fished Lake Norman last week and the top three weights were very close. Taking the win was Arnold Ledford and Coleman Hoyle, with 7.60. John Black and Roger McNeilly had 7.35 and took second, while third went to Dean Champion and Fred Wright with 7.20. Big bass was a 2.30 largemouth brought in by Ledford and Hoyle. This week, it’s back to Lake Wylie with a 7am blast-off and 1pm weigh in.
Moss
Twenty-three boats blasted off last Thursday evening on Moss Lake for the weekly bass tournament. Brian and Cody Hoyle picked up the win with 9.58. Nathan White and Scott Yarbro had 8.38 and were second with JR Garland and Ronnie Beason taking third with 6.66. Chris Carroll and Larry Denton had 6.57, settling in fourth and rounding out the top five was Gary Smart and Les Dulin with 4.87. Big bass was a 3.05 largemouth brought in by Billy Beatty and Mark Pickleshimer.
CCBC
The Cleveland County Bass Club have fished two tournaments this month. The first was on Lake Wateree. Virgil Hamrick grabbed that win with 9.40 and he anchored his catch with a 3.66 largemouth and that was big bass of the day. Tom Mayhew had 8.90 and landed in second while Roger Beaver took third with 5.58. Ray Hembree had 3.84 and was fourth and fifth went to Chuck Camp with 3.72. This past weekend, it was Lake Hickory for the CCBC. John Presnell got the win with 14.02 followed by Ray Hembree with 8.82. Jason Price had 8.52 and was third with Tyler Hensley getting fourth with 8.04. Rounding out the top five was Tom Mayhew with 7.34. Mayhew also had big bass of the day with a 4.50 largemouth. Next up for the CCBC in June is Lake Rhodhiss.
Bass Casters
The Bass Casters were on Lake Rhodhiss this past weekend. Bobby Winn picked up the win with 7.4, followed by Mark Swink with 6.7. Randy Scarborough and Brandon Scarborough tied for third with 5.5 and Jared Ward took fifth with 3.12. Next event will be a night tournament on June 11 on Lake Wylie from midnight til 9 am.
