Bruce Camp's Local Fishing Report May 2nd Edition
Kosa
The retirees fished Lake Norman last week. John Black and Roger McNeely picked up the win with 9.20. David O’Shields and JR Henry got second place with 7.80. Third went to Dean Champion and Fred Wright with 7.35. Big bass was a 2.90 largemouth brought in by John Black and Roger McNeely. This week the Kosa retirees fish Lake Wylie.
Moss
Last Thursday night’s weeky bass tournament saw 33 boats blast-off at 6 pm. Larry Denton and Brian Fitch took top honors with 9.86, they also had big bass of the evening with a 4.30 largemouth. Jody Black and Jason Rhodes were a close second with 9.78, followed by JR Garland and Ronnie Beason, who had 9.15. Bryan and Allison Thrift got fourth with 9.11 and fifth with 6.56 was Chris Hoopaugh.
Arnold ask to remind anglers of this Saturday’s benefit tournament that goes from 8am til 2pm. Special thanks to Jordon Jackson for helping with the weigh-in.
CCBC
The Cleveland County Bass Club fished Lake Hickory on Saturday and Tom Mayhew grabbed the win with a catch of 13.56. Tammy Melton had 10.8 and was second, she also had big bass of the day with a 5.76 largemouth. Jimmy Melton had 9.42 and was third followed by John Rankin with 9.06. Fifth place went to James Osborne with 6.86. The CCBC will fish Lake Wylie in June on a date yet to be determined.
Bass Caster Federation
The Bass Casters Federation club fished Lake Hickory on Saturday, Chris Hoopaugh took top honors with a catch of 18.0. He also had big bass of the event with a 6.10 largemouth. Mark Swink had 16.78 and was second, with Chuck Camp getting third with 12.86. Mike Smith had 10.66 and landed in fourth. Rounding out the top five was Tom Gavin with 9.98.  June 8th the Bass Casters Fed club will fish Lake High Rock.
Bass Casters
The Bass Casters club fished Lake Wylie on Sunday for their Top Ten Fish-off. Mark Swink got the win with 15.4 and he had big bass as well with a 4.7 largemouth. Brandon Scarborough grabbed second with 12.12, followed by Bubba Sprouse with 8.6. Randy Scarborough had 7.7 and was fourth. Tom Gavin took fifth with 5.2. The Bass Casters will fish their June event on Lake Rhodhiss.
