Bruce Camp's Local Fishing Report May 9th Edition
Kosa
The Kosa retirees fished Lake Wylie last week, Mack Wyatt fished solo and got the win with 10.65. John Rankin and Tom Mayhew stepped out of their rocking chairs long enough to get second with 8.65. Ronnie Humphries fished solo as well and was third with 7.80. Big bass was a 3.40 largemouth brought in by David O’Shields and Doug Sparrow. This week it is back to Lake Norman and they shouldn’t have problems finding enough water to fish after this past weekend, as well as this week’s rain.
Moss
Twenty three boats made it out last Thursday for the weekly bass tournament on Moss Lake. JR Garland and Ronnie Beason brought in 12.20 and picked up the win. They also had big bass of the evening with a 3.62 largemouth. Daniel Ruppe and John Bailey took second with 9.94. Jody Black and Jason Rhodes were a close third with 9.55. Chad Green and Jerry Bolton brought in 9.09 and were fourth and rounding out the top five was Arnold Ledford and Brent Shytle with 8.35.
On Saturday Arnold and the Thursday crowd put together the annual benefit tournament on Moss. Seventeen boats fished the event where Jody and Black and Jason Rhodes grabbed the win with 19.36. Bryan Thrift and Steve Tolbert had 16.08 and were second. Reggie Guffey and Donnie Walker had 15.41 and settled in third, while Chet Beam and Nick McCracken brought in 14.28 to get fourth. James Osborne fished solo and was fifth with 11.22. Big bass was a 5.32 brought in by the team of Thrift and Tolbert. Arnold says a big thanks to all that came out and fished and or helped, and a huge thanks to Jordan Jackson for all the help.
