Bruce Camp's Local Fishing Report Nov. 10th edition
Kosa
The Kosa retirees were on Lake Wylie last week and once again John Black and Roger McNeilly picked up a win, with 7.40. Second place with 5.75 was Larry Melton and George Crosswhite. Dean Champion and Fred Wright had 5.0 and settled in third. Melton and Crosswhite had big bass of the day with a 3.30 largemough. This week, it’s off to Lake Norman, and the weather looks great.
5th Annual Special Olympics/North Shelby School Benefit Event
Saturday, the Eaton Corporation and Ricky Peace hosted the 5th Annual Special Olympics/North Shelby School benefit bass tournament on Lake Norman. The top five from that event were: Robert Stiltner and Alfred Kiesling 12.57, Larry Carpenter Sr. and Dave Snyder 12.44, Jeff and Darrell Hager 12.15, John and Angela Mayo 11.95, Drew and Amy Montgomery 11.90.
Bass Casters
The Bass Casters club had their Top Ten fish-off Sunday, and they ended up on Lake Wylie. John Brown picked up the win with 10.6, followed by Terry Knight with 9.13. Mark Swink had 8.14 and was third, he also had big bass of the day with a 3.9 largemouth. Bobby Winn had 7.8 to take fourth with Randy Scarborough a close fifth with 7.7. This week, the Bass Casters will have their November event, also on Lake Wylie, from 7am til 3pm.
Gavin Jones Benefit Tournament on Wylie
Saturday, November 19 will be the date of a benefit bass tournament for Gavin Jones on Lake Wylie. This event is $1000 guaranteed first place and $100 big fish. Safe light will be blast-off time and 3pm will be the weigh-in time. This event will use Buster Boyd Landing and there is a $75 entry fee.
