Lake Norman Winter Trail Dates Announced
This year the Lake Norman Winter Team Trail will again consist of a Saturday and a Sunday trail. The Saturday dates are: Dec. 3, 17, 31. Jan. 7, 14, 28. Sundays dates are: Nov. 27, Dec. 4, 11, Jan. 1, 8, 22, Feb. 5. The fish-off will be a two-day event again as well with that being Feb. 11 & 12. For more info contact Mike at 704-634-1157.
Kosa
The Kosa retirees fished Lake Hickory last week and results were about what one would expect. John Rankin and Tom Mayhew had 7.90 and took the win. George Crosswhite and Larry Melton had 5.50 and took second place with David O’Shields and Mack Wyatt getting third with 4.80. Big bass of the day was a 3.8 largemouth brought in by Rankin and Mayhew. Lake Norman will be the stop this week and hopefully better catches.
Moss
Twenty boats fought the fair traffic last Thursday to make it to the weekly bass tournament on Moss Lake. Richard McAbee had 10.56 to take the win. Walt Brysick and Charles Bridges had 5.42 and claimed second. Don and Sara Ledford were third with 4.13 with Randy and Randall Wright close behind with 4.4. Fifth place was a tie and went to the teams of Brian/Cody Hoyle, Bryan Thrift and Matt Arey, both teams had 3.15. Big bass was a 4.4 brought in by Wright and Wright.
Tonight, Thursday, Oct. 13th is the last tournament on the Thursday weekly events until next spring. The fish-off will be this Saturday starting at 8am, til 2 pm, and the lake is OFF LIMITS FRIDAY.
CCBC
The Cleveland County Bass Club fished their January makeup event on Lake Wylie last weekend. Roger Beaver had a limit of bass weighing 11.54 and got the win, he also took big bass honors with a 3.70 largemouth. Second place went to Ray Hembree with 7.60. Third place with 6.02 was John Rankin followed by Larry Melton with 4.88. Fifth place went to Jimmy Melton with 4.64. This weekend the CCBC will fish their regular October event on Lake Greenwood.
