Bruce Edward Marley, Jr., age 42, of Shelby, passed away June 14, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Bruce was born March 8, 1983, in Caldwell County, to Debbie Voorhees and the late Bruce Edward Marley, Sr.

Bruce is a young man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Bruce enjoyed playing pool, camping, fishing, and time at the shooting range. He would help anyone that needed it, no matter who they were. Bruce's faith and trust in God is incredibly stronger than anyone could ever image. Bruce is a fighter, strong-willed, loving, and a caring person overall. Bruce is a son that any mother and father would be proud of and proud to have as a son.

In addition to his biological father, Bruce Edward Marley Sr., Bruce was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Anna L. Miller; sister, Anna Marie Miller; and uncles, Bruce Miller and Charles Miller.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Chase Alexander Marley; mother and father, Debra and Mark Voorhees; brothers, Chris Marley (Amanda), Anthony Marley, Blake Voorhees (Amanda), and Seth Harrison; significant other of 20 years, Mae Griffith; aunts, Barbara Minton (Johnny), Nancy Lackey, Cindy Harshaw, and Kimmy Cornatzer (Glenn); uncles, Fred Voorhees, and Johnny Miller; niece, Chyna McGuire (Mitchell); and many other nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and cousins.

Bruce's family will have a Celebration of Life at the Eastview Cemetery in Newton, NC, at a later date.
