BURNS FFA BBQ FUNDRAISER IS FEBRUARY 24TH
The Burns FFA BBQ Fundraiser will be held in the Burns High School Cafeteria on Feb. 25th from 4-7 pm.  Tickets are $8 includes: BBQ, slaw, beans, chips, roll, drink, pickles and homemade dessert.  Dine-in or to-go plates may be picked up in the school parking lot at 307 East Stagecoach Trail, Lawndale, NC.
All proceeds go to fund the Burns FFA ISEE trip to Grace Farms Orphanage in Malawi, Africa July 23-Aug 5th, 2012.  There are seven students signed up to go.  The cost is about $3000/person.  While there students plan to install drip irrigation and teach the orphans how to utilize it to grow fresh produce and maintain the macadamia tree farm.  They will also work with the cattle and goats on the farm.  Additional plans are to conduct field days for the local schools where the student to teacher ratio is 172:1 (students to teacher!).  They are in desperate need.
