Burns FFA Hunters Helping The Hungry
The Burns High School FFA Chapter is conducting a program to give deer meat to the U-CAN Bliss Center for distribution to those in need of food. FFA members show a strong interest in this project and are requesting the help of the community to accomplish their vision. Both hunters and those who wish to help sponsor the endeavor are needed.
FFA members and local outdoorsmen are encouraged to legally harvest deer and take the field-dressed animal to Wells-Jenkins-Wells Processing in Forest City, NC. After the processor has packaged the meat, students will deliver to the U-CAN Bliss Center in Lawndale. Every ounce of meat that is donated will go to our friends who are in need of this food. One deer can feed a family for three months or up to two hundred people at one time.
The hunters that donate deer will receive a free t-shirt with local sponsors/business names on the back. The following are the different levels of sponsorship:
• Feed the Family - $50
• Feed the Street - $100
• Feed the Community - $200
• Feed the County - $500
Each level of sponsorship gets their business advertised on the back of the shirt. Please consider joining Burns FFA this year as they put meat on the table for the needy families in Cleveland County.
