Burns FFA presents 1960 Piedmont High Trophy to Lawndale Historical Museum

On June 6, 2014 a piece of history from Piedmont High School was presented to the Lawndale Historical Museum. FFA student officers and advisors from Burns High School presented the first place trophy for the International Land Judging Competition to the museum for preservation and exhibition. The trophy was accepted on behalf of the museum by a member of the winning team, Arthur Ledford. The trophy was won in 1960 by a team of Piedmont High School students and their teacher Webb Kiser. Since then, Piedmont High School has ceased to exist and in the move of schools the trophy found its way to Burns High School. The 2014-2015 FFA officers decided that it would be better off at the Lawndale Historical Museum so that people who had a connection to the Piedmont High team members, teacher and school could visit or revisit things about their past and community. Shown above Burns High School FFA Members present the trophy to the Lawndale Historical Museum. (l to r) Braydan Chapman, Jed Hester, Joy Smith, and Dakota Parker.
