Burns High Theatre Troupe to present... Here Comes the Bride... And there goes the Groom!

The Burns High School Theatre Troupe is happy to announce it's spring play: Here Comes The Bride... And There Goes The Groom! by Billy St. John and produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. Show times will be at Burns High School on March 16 and 17, 2018 at 7:00p.m. Tickets are just $5 at the door. The school is located at 307 E. Stagecoach Trail, Lawndale, NC.
Play overview: When Millie Compton's fiance bolts from the altar, she rushes into the church dressing room in tears. She is joined by her sister (the matron of honor), her mother and grandmother and her best friend (a bridesmaid). Unable to fathom Pardue's flight, they admit his mother and sister, also a bridesmaid, who are equally bewildered. Consolation turns to recrimination as the mothers take each other on in a purse-smacking fight. Several interruptions make things even more confusing until the final twist at the end of the play.

Pictured: This Burns High School Theatre Troupe rehearsal photo shows the wedding scene where the the bride, Millie Compton (played by Natalie McCabe) is left standing in the aisle, while her groom, Pardue Lawrence (played by Ethan Hull) bolts for the door.
