Mr. Calvin "Bud" Bridges, 86 of Shelby, passed away Wednesday May 24, 2017 peacefully at home.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Faye Allen Bridges of the home and numerous nieces and nephews
Born August 31, 1930 in Cleveland County, Mr. Bridges was the son of the late Clyde and Mittie Humphries Bridges and was preceded in death by a loving son, Dennis Lee Bridges, two brothers, Alvin "Doc" Bridges and Malvin Bridges, and a sister, Maxine Peeler.
Bud was a loving husband and father. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and later worked and retired as a truck driver for Concrete Supply Company. Bud was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where he loved spending time with his church family. Mr. Bridges enjoyed watching Nascar racing, water skiing, listening to country music, and spending time with his family and friends. He always brought a smile to your face and will be missed dearly by those that knew him.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Eric Davis. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park with full military honors.
