Carl Ray Lemons

Carl Ray Lemons, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

Born on May 28, 1935, in Cleveland County, he lived a full and rich life of 89 years.

Carl was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in woodworking, carpentry, and gardening. His hands were never idle, always crafting something beautiful or tending to the earth with care. A devoted member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church, Carl's faith was a guiding light throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Radford Lemons and Nancy Roberts Lemons; his son, Michael Lemons; his sisters, Adriane Lemons Evans, Ethel Lemons Warren, Thelma Lemons Green, and Margaret Lemons Spakes; and his brothers, RL Lemons, William Lemons, Charlie Lemons, and Earl Lemons.

Carl leaves behind his cherished wife of 70 years, Margaret Ayers Lemons, who stood by his side through life's many seasons. He is also survived by his sons, Dennis Lemons and Richard Lemons; his daughter, Gloria Lemons Parker and her husband Carl; and his special grandson, Shawn Sisk. His legacy continues through his 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Carl's loving pets, JoJo and Tinker Bell, will miss him dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Carl will be laid to rest in the Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, where he will find eternal peace.

Carl Ray Lemons will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love for his family, and his unwavering faith. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
