Carme Elam Lee

Mr. Carme Elam Lee died on Wednesday, July 17,2019. Born on October 4, 1932, Mr. Lee was a native of Cleveland County. He was the son of the late James Walter and Mary Ramseur Lee. He retired in 1994 as owner Carme Lee's Automotive Service. He ran his business for 41 years. Mr. Lee was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, with many years of active service. He was a member of the Bayliss Fellowship Class. Mr. Lee was a charter member of Masonic Lodge, A.F. & A.M. #744. He was a past master, having served as master of this lodge in 1988. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death 6 years earlier by his wife of 62 years, Janice Hoyle Lee; 3 brothers, Carl Lee, George Lee, and Paul Lee; and 3 sisters Mary Elizabeth, Anne Lee, and Sara Mode.

Carme is survived by his only child, Daniel Carme Lee and his wife, Kimberle Saunders Lee. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Chelsea Katelyn Lee, Dr. Jessica Anne Lee Zimmerman and her husband Max Zimmerman. Mr. Lee is also survived by a sister, Julia O'Reilly, and a number of beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws and many beloved church members and masonic brothers. He will always be remembered by his round table friends at Wendy's and Hardees; and his special friend, Janice Watts.

A celebration of life service will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1207 West Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC 28152, at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 20th, 2019. Burial will follow the service at Rose Hill Memorial Park. The Rev. Steven Lee will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorials be made in Carme's honor at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1207 West Dixon Blvd. Shelby, NC 28152; or Masonic Lodge, A.F. & A.M. #744.
