Carol Newton Hunt, 87, of Casar, went to be with the Lord, whom she truly and dearly loved, on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at home with her family by her side.

Born in Cleveland County, on June 26, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Ophus Grayson Newton and Effie Louella McNeilly Newton. She was a homemaker and member of Corinth Baptist Church. Carol spent many hours reading. She enjoyed being around people and loved life, always starting a conversation and having a good laugh. Her church was very special to her, and the fellowshipping of friends and neighbors was near and dear to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband J.W. Hunt; two brothers, Wayne Newton and Gerald Newton; and three sisters, Ottie Whitworth, Jean Martin, and Annie "Boots" Sisk.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Miranda & Jeff Willard of Casar, Robin & Tom Siegner of Charlotte, and Elizabeth & Arlan Bush of Shelby, five grandchildren, Amber Harrelson Montecuollo, Jonathan Willard, Shannon Siegner, Amanda Willard and Austin Montecuollo; and five great grandchildren, Alyssa Montecuollo, Averee Montecuollo, Kylee Goins, Max Pickens and Madi Pickens

The family will receive friends at Corinth Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM, with the funeral service following at 3:00 PM at the church with the Rev. Dustin Hamrick and Rev. Norris Willis officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
