Carol Toney Taylor, age 82 of Lincolnton, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at Levine Dixon Hospice House. She was born August 1, 1938 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Nelson G. Toney and Zettie Rebecca Propst Toney. She was a member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking and shopping. Carol loved her family and loved spending time with all her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Johnson; children, Kim Curtis Johnson, Mark Allen Johnson, and Sheila Rebecca Rose Johnson; and siblings, Helen Marlow, Hazel Miller, Paul Toney, Roy Lee Toney, and Madge Jewel Toney.

Survivors include her son, Johnny William Johnson and wife, Trudy; daughter, Cindy Tate Edwards and husband, Thomas; grandchildren, Leslie Tate, Carla Steele, Brandee Powers, Jeremy Johnson, John Michael Johnson, Chris Johnson, Lauren Coffin, and Bobby Earley; great grandchildren, Caroline, Brock, Lucas, Noah, Aiden, Braelyn, Caelyn, Blake, and Cole; siblings, Roger Toney (Jewel), Donald Toney, and Faithel DuBois (Tom); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dennis Bean and Rev. Ken Faulkenbury officiating. Burial will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.
