Carolinas HealthCare System celebrates new mission statement with tree planting

Carolinas HealthCare System has an easily recognizable logo called the "Tree of Life" and it has represented the system for over three decades. It is more than a logo, it represents Carolinas HealthCare System's commitment to serving the health and wellness of patients and communities.

The system has a new mission statement: to improve health, elevate hope and advance healing - for all. To celebrate the new mission statement, the System is planting an actual tree at each facility as a symbol of its commitment to the mission. On Tuesday, March 7, Carolinas HealthCare System Cleveland planted its Tree of Life. President of Carolinas HealthCare System Cleveland, Brian Gwyn, spoke about the Tree of Life and said, "Today is about commitment. Commitment to our mission and vision, our patients, our communities, and to each other."

The tree planting attendees included Gwyn; Chief Medical Officer Charles Tomlinson, MD; Chief Nurse Executive Veronica Poole-Adams, RN; Skip Warrick, chairman of the hospital's advisory council; and employees from Carolinas HealthCare System Cleveland.
