Carolyn Dillingham Hamrick, age 89, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. Born February 19, 1928 in Sebring, FL, she was the daughter of the late Hugh J Dillingham and wife Annie Jones Dillingham. Carolyn was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where she previously participated in Triple L Club, WMU, and also taught Sunday School and served on many committees. She enjoyed traveling with her family and husband Carroll especially to the beach. She retired as a bookkeeper for Hudson's Department Store after 30 years of employment and in her retirement she enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble and watching Jeopardy.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Hamrick. Three brothers, Deely Dillingham, Hugh Dillingham Jr. and wives Elizabeth and Ruby, and Don Dillingham as well as her favorite sister, Ruby Camp and husband Dan.

Carolyn is survived by her son Carroll Hamrick Jr. and wife Ginger of Shelby and her daughter, Ava Bryson and husband Sid of Shelby, one sister-in-law Carolyn Dillingham and five grandchildren; Ethan Hamrick, Alex Hamrick, David Bryson and wife Heather, Chuck Bryson and wife Crystal and Tracey Barnes as well as nine great- grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. Andy Oliver officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, February 12, 2018 at Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory from 6 pm until 7:30 pm. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
