Carolyn Elizabeth Allen Sheehan, 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Hospice Wendover in Shelby, NC.

She was born in Cleveland County on August 21, 1946, to the late Lillian Philbeck Summers and Andrew Larkin Allen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, D.R. Summers; her daughter, Kelly Susanne; her brothers, Marvin Allen and Dean Allen; and her sisters, Dianne Alexander and Peggy Alexander.

Carolyn was a devoted member of Westwood Heights Baptist Church in Shelby, where she found great joy in singing in the choir. She was known for her warmth, her thoughtful guidance, and her deep love of cooking--but above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Walden Sheehan; her sons, Chris Alexander (Michelle), Chuck Alexander (Johnnie), and Jason Alexander (Mary); her stepson, Warren Sheehan (April); and her stepdaughter, Paula Murray (Marshall).

Carolyn also leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Garrett, Elizabeth, Macie, David, Madison, Derric, Tate, Hayes, Taylor, Dustin, Naomi, Westley, and Erin, as well as her many great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 14, 2025, in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home, with Pastor David Costner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carolyn's memory to the charity of your choice.
