Carolyn Hopper Adams
 Mrs. Carolyn Hopper Adams, 55, of 6044 Maple Valley Drive, Shelby, NC departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.  She was born on December 7, 1956 in Cleveland County to the late Rev. Garland Hopper (Hattie) and Wes Brooks.

Carolyn was a member of Ellis Chapel Baptist Church, where before her health declined, she served on the usher board and Spiritual Choir.  She was formerly employed with Allied Plastics.  Her pastimes included spending time with her children and grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Hazel Lee Hopper and Garland Hopper, Jr.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, her husband of 37 years, Robert Adams; three sons, Stacy Hopper and Chad Adams both of Shelby and Shawn Adams of Kings Mountain, NC; two daughters, Lena Davis (Randy) of Bessemer City, NC and Tina Brown (Marcus) of Ranlo, NC; four brothers, Lemanuel Hopper of Boiling Springs, NC, Paul Hopper of Asheville, NC, Robert Hopper of Shelby and Walter Hopper of Kings Mountain; 11 sisters, Rosie Lee Williams (John) of Swainsville, NC, Sarah Gill (Sherwood), Willie Mae Hopper, Betty Archie, Mary Maddox (Franklin), Betty Mae Brooks, Mary Pace (Kevin), Nancy McSwain (Danny) all of Shelby, Francine Dawkins, Virginia McSwain (Ralph) and Phyllis Brooks all of Grover, NC; her mother-in-law, Ellen Adams of the home; two brothers-in-law, Aubrey Adams of Shelby and William Adams of Baltimore, MD; one sister-in-law, Mary Manning of Shelby; a special niece and caregiver, Omega Hayes of Shelby; twenty grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Simon McClain officiating.  Burial will take place at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM at the church on Thursday and at other times at the home.
