Carolyn L. Lowery, age 88, of Union Mills, NC passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at Autumn Care of Saluda.
Carolyn was born Saturday, March 17, 1934 in Morgan County, NC to the late Vono C. Baker and Emma Louise Clontz Baker. For many years she and her late husband, Bobby Dean, owned and operated a shrimp boat named, "Hardtimes" in Port Aranzes, Texas. They also owned the Planes and Things Hobby Shop in Corpus Christi, Texas for several years. Carolyn was a member of Fairview Missionary Methodist Church and was an avid cat lover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Bobby Dean Lowery.
Left to cherish fond memories are her two daughters, Renae Benham (Larry) of Holiday, Texas and Cheryl Endick of Union Mills; sister, Jackie Henderson (Carl) of Marshall, NC and three grandchildren, Shawn Lopez, Jason Escalante and Dylan Brown.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 14th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dean Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
