Mrs. Carolyn Lurene Smith, 51, of 501 Carolina Avenue Shelby, NC passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Spartanburg County, SC on July 11, 1968 to Rosetta Bess Moore and the late Joe Lewis Moore.

Carolyn was a graduate of Shelby High School and a Varsity cheerleader for 4 years. She was employed as a Med Tech at an assisted living facility in Lawndale, NC. Carolyn was a loving person. She loved her family oh so much. She loved her grandchildren; they were her life. She was an all around loving person. She loved to cook and take care of people and loved having family events. She was everybody's mama. She was a member of Good Samaritan Fellowship Baptist Church and she helped to feed the homeless at Hopper's Chapel Baptist Church every Wednesday. She was a very giving person of her time.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Verlen Bess and Bennie Goolsby and her paternal grandparents, Marian Moore and Ted Olgesby.

Left to cherish her memory, her mother, Rosetta Bess Moore of Shelby; two children, Neal Moore of Gaffney, SC and Jessica Moore of Shelby; grandchildren, Kelic, Landon, Neal, Jr., Kennedy and Khloe; two brothers, Cal Lewis Moore and Barry Joe Moore both of Shelby; special friends, Evelyn Jackson, John Starr and Robin Banner and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 3:30 PM at Good Samaritan Fellowship Baptist Church in Shelby . The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 3:30 PM at the church.
