| Mrs. Carolyn Price Hamrick, 71, of Shelby passed away at Hospice of Rutherford County on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. A native of Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late Ernie Lee Price and Lois Ledbetter Price. Carolyn liked going to the mountains and beach and enjoyed cooking. She was a loving wife to her husband, Sterling Hamrick, who preceded her in death in 2009. She was a member of Mr. Sinai Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Hamrick and a half-sister, Velma Ellis. She is survived by two sons, Dale Hamrick & wife, Apryl of Forest City and Darrell Hamrick of Shelby; grandchildren, Julia Hamrick, Katelyn Hamrick, Lauren Hamrick, Jamie Williams, Courtney Williams; a step-sister, Ethel Shackelford; a niece, Alvala Stewart and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Friday, October 5th, 2:00 – 3:00 pm at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with the funeral following at 3:00 pm. The Revs. Tim Trexler & Don Ledbetter will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
